Abstract

Mechanical ventilation at home is one of the methods of treatment of respiratory failure, but it is not yet widespread in Poland. Domestic ventilation can increase quality of life of patients who can remain at home under the care of a therapeutic team. Multiple sclerosis is one of the diseases that require mechanical ventilation. This disease, leds in many cases to respiratory failure. Here, we describe a case of the patient who has suffered from multiple sclerosis for 23 years and is now mechanically ventilated at home. The paper presents the current state of the patient, problems that affected her and her family, and what changes have occured since the time of her diagnosis with MS.
