Abstract

Bilberry fruits are part of a traditional diet contributing to the intake of natural antioxidants, such as anthocyanins and phenolic acids. A specific nature of these agents promotes a wide use of bilberry in prevention and supportive treatment of many civilisation diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, cancer, neurodegenerative and other age-related diseases.
