Research studies on physical development of children and adolescents in south-eastern Poland on turn of the XX and XXI centuries

Abstract

This paper contains an extensive review of research studies on somatic and motor development of children and youth from south-eastern Poland. The problems of these studies deal with development of healthy and ill persons, and also athletes. In the Podkarpacie region these studies have a long tradition. Their results allow to trace a directions of changes occurring in the physical development of children and adolescents on the turn of the XX and XXI centuries. The present review comprises the materials published in scientific books and journals. It shows a considerable achievement of a research teams from the Podkarpacie region, particularly from the University of Rzeszów.
