Abstract

The hand is very important part of the body. it is excellent organ of sensation and catching. Impair-ment of hand function because of disease or injury, causes big problems in normal life. Objectives: Comparison of applying traditional methods evaluation of the hand function by using Brunnstrom score and electronic measuring instrument of the hand function (EUDR) Material and methods: The studied group comprised 26 patients with hemiparesis following cerebral stroke. The examination of the both hands was made two days before and two days after the rehabilita-tion. The average time of the rehabilitation was 24 days. During this period of time patients got comprehensive program of rehabilitation. The hand function was observed by using EUDR. We checked hand area, range of motion, hand mus-cles strength. We asses hand function also by using the Brunnstrom score. We examined paretic hand. Results: In studied group we observed that in 15 patients the range of hand motion improved. Hand muscles strength was better in 19 patients after rehabilitation. With using Bnmnstrom score we observed better hand function only in 8 patients. Conclusions: Electronic measuring instrument of the hand function is more sensitive and accurate compared with evaluation Brunnstrom score.
