Abstract

The main aim if the research was to check the level of knowledge of women over 35 about breast cancer prevention. The research was done on 300 women living in the south-east of Poland. It had a form of an anonymous survey prepared by the author himself. According to the results of the research, the awareness of the problem among these women is insufficient. In the examined group it can be observed that it is not well understood when menstruating women should do a breast-self examination. The factors which can make the incidence of cancer more likely are known to most of these women. Nevertheless, every second woman is not able to name at last four symptoms indicating breast cancer.
